Reflection-

Before taking this project, I was unaware of this inquiry. As I am a teacher, my goal was just completing the course material and it was told in teacher training to just finish the syllabus. But, after knowing about inquiry based teaching, I am thinking that I wasted my time in teaching without knowledge of inquiry. Because, now I realized that inquiry based teaching is very helpful in indulging the students within a topic. In the beginning of the project, I faced many challenges in this project. For instance, I was unaware of BC curriculum and about curricular competencies. These things were very challenging for me to understand. But, as I went further in the project, I read a lot about BC curriculum and I found my inquiry topic ‘ Global Warming’ in this curriculum in a very explained manner. Moreover, reading the five principles helped me a lot in clarifying all of my doubts about inquiry based teaching. As much I learnt about this process, this is very simple process to follow and implement in classrooms as it provides vast knowledge about the teaching strategies which can be used in classroom for the overall learning of students. Apart from this, I still have a question about this process that ‘ How can an instructor cover everything in the curriculum if he utilize inquiry oriented material and instructing strategies?’ In my perspective, if I will plan this project again, then I will emphasize more on creativity of the students. Also, Bringing inventiveness into standard educational practice has gotten to be fundamental thing among teachers ( Kelly, 2012). Furthermore, there are many things that I learn from this process. First one is inquiry is to see the things in different way without changing its perspective( Bai, 2005). Thus, in inquiry, we can choose different strategies to teach students about a particular topic. For planning strategies, a teacher have to look inward while facing the topic. He have to think from inside that how he can indulge students in this topic so that it will give better results in future. Moreover, to teach a particular topic, a teacher just need to explore that why this topic comes to the world and what is its existence and history ( David & Matt, 2002). Furthermore, in the beginning of the course, I had many doubts about this course as why we are doing this and what is the need for this. But now, I totally understand about this inquiry project that this is very useful in overall development of a child. With this, a teacher can plan different strategies in a way that a student can gain enough knowledge about a particular topic. After doing this project, I am totally satisfied with the process of inquiry. It explains about different strategies like experimentation, discussions and using picture books and makes teaching and learning as fun ( Chu et al., 2017). Moreover, I learnt a lot about Design thinking. I planned my project on the basis of design thinking. Design thinking is an activity that is implicit in the process of design ( Koh, chai, wong & Hong, 2015). With this, we can change the mindsets of students about particular topic. It changes difficulty into fun. My peers suggested me to put some lines as a summary about my project. I have incorporated their ideas in my project. Moreover, they liked my project as I have added many of the pictures and activities related to my project which makes it more attractive and easy to implement in classroom. At last, I want to say that I learned a lot of things from my peers and instructor about inquiry and I will surely implement all the ideas and my learnings from this project in my future classroom.
